SUMMARY

Operates Batch Plant to provide a proper mixture of cement, sand stone or gravel and water into concrete mixer trucks for delivery to customers by performing the following duties. Dispatches orders and relays messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Responsible for proper materials in mix designs

Responsible for proper material in bins

Responsible for proper maintenance of hot water boiler

Responsible for proper levels of Admixture.

Responsible for proper levels of cement and flyash

Responsible for general upkeep of building and grounds around plant

Takes and records customer orders

Assigns trucks to orders

Coordinates deliveries

Must have good communication and organization skills

Must have ability to multi-task

Must have the ability to project a professional attitude when dealing with internal and external customers either by phone or in person.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have knowledge of computer batching systems and components of a batch plant either by formal education or previous experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
