Dura-Line is growing fast, and we are currently hiring a talented and knowledge driven R&D Engineer at our Clinton, TN facility, that can work with local and global employees to provide local research and development project solutions in the areas of new product development, new material testing, tool optimization, and new product manufacturing issues resolving. We need an enthusiastic individual who is approachable, has a thirst for learning, excellent attention to detail, is a good communicator, and can train others & share their knowledge and best practices.

 In this exciting NEW role, you will report to the R&D Analytical Scientist which will train and guide you to write training guides & standard work procedures, show you how to validate testing protocols & processes developed by the R&D Materials Teams and you will be an active participant in new inventions and innovations to drive future fit products and solutions at Dura-Line.

 Knowledge is power! We are looking for someone with a bachelor's degree in polymer science, engineering, chemical engineering, or material science/plastics. In addition to the academic lab or technical background, it would be helpful to have some hands-on experience in polymer extrusion, injection molding manufacturing, and/or product research & development, polymer analytical tools (e.g., Melt index, tensile, density, DSC, TGA).

This includes laboratory testing experience and providing support to scientists, process engineers, and QA technicians regarding product quality. You must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suit Programs (Python/Minitab experience is a huge plus) and able to gather & analyze data, create reports, and make presentations.

We need a self-starter that can lead projects, maintaining a clean and functional lab, ensure the laboratory safety PPE are replenished, verify the MSDS for all materials in the lab are up to date and act as a liaison for trials to be run by the process team. Teamwork is critical for this role; we need someone to have a customer-centered mindset and is able to work with diverse cultures and team members.
