Scope:
Responsible for monitoring and recommending improvements to the organization’s software and business systems. The business systems analyst works closely with business unit leaders and executive team members to understand business and client requirements and implements software and processes to meet those needs.
Job Summary:
Responsible for significantly impacting operational goals by ensuring software integrations and changes meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications. With minimal supervision, works with stakeholders to translate business needs and issues into actionable requirements. Applies business process knowledge and strong analytical and problem-solving skills to maximize the use of business systems.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Analyzes the efficacy of new and existing systems, technologies, and workflows; works with the business systems team and business stakeholders to develop strategies for leveraging and improving these systems including making recommendations for business process and business system improvements.
Authors change management documentation in accordance with the company’s quality management system including functional requirements, risk assessments, and validation reports; drafts comprehensive test plans to discover defects, errors, configuration issues, and functionality flaws.
Translates business requirements into software development features; creates wireframes to support user-interface design concepts; works directly with software developers to ensure clarity on the conditions of acceptance.
Performs system administration activities including application setup, configuration, and maintenance.
Ensures software integrations, changes, and configuration updates meet quality and organizational standards, adhere to business requirements, and decrease or eliminate risk to process and product; submits and obtains approval on final software testing activities; actively participates in performance qualification activities to support the commercial distribution of product.
Leads projects; works directly with business unit leaders, senior leadership, and cross-functional/site teams to establish project timelines and expectations; provides project updates and manages applicable change orders through to completion.
Performs system, process, and application monitoring; assists in troubleshooting and resolving intermediate to complex systems issues; provides after-hours support based on a predefined on-call schedule.
Drafts end user documentation and admin guides; provides training to business systems team members, stakeholders, and end users.
Serves as back up to the Business Systems Manager
