As an HR Representative, you will perform administrative and strategic responsibilities while helping to plan and administer important functions, and work with leadership to ensure a diverse workforce with equal opportunities. The ideal candidate will provide HR services and assistance to assigned staff and support divisions of Cleveland Cliffs Steel to help them accomplish their business objectives. This position will reside in Burns Harbor, IN with options to work out of the Indiana Harbor (East Chicago) location or the Chicago office after training.
Responsibilities
Provide HR generalist support for all HR matters in assigned staff areas
Manage the medical leave process for assigned staff areas
Support the performance review process for staff areas and perform yearly audit of the same
Responsible for recruiting and onboarding activities for experienced hires utilizing e-recruitment tools and strategy
Coordinate participation in local on-boarding and orientation sessions for new hires
Track recruitment and attrition metrics, analyze findings, and report out to staff area leadership
Oversee the use of corporate job posting systems (internal and external) and other search tools to meet staffing needs
Ensure the accurate maintenance of appropriate records and reports, including those associated with the Affirmative Action Plan and Vets 100 report
Oversee the scheduling of staff employees in various training and development opportunities
Perform exit interviews with employees leaving the company
Support HR Manager with special projects and tasks
5%-10% travel between local facility locations and other duties as may be required
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business related field
Two or more years of experience in an HR or HR related function
Experience-based interviewing skills
Collaborative problem solver
Proven analytical capabilities
Able to work in teams with people from diverse backgrounds, organizational functions and levels
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Literate with computer HR tools and Microsoft Office software
Preferred Requirements:
Two or more years of experience as an HR Generalist, in a manufacturing environment
Experience using PowerBI
