The NAM eMobility org, a highly visible, high-growth area for Schneider Electric, is seeking an eMobility System Architect to join our R&D team as we develop a comprehensive solution including a new range of electric vehicle AC and DC chargers, controllers, and an e-Mobility Digital Platform to enable our customers to operate their EV charging infrastructure. The eMobility System Architect will reinforce our development team in the R&D department of the e-Mobility Line of Business, located in a U.S. hub, in a cross-functional, multicultural, and international environment. You will oversee architectures, leading exploration projects related to building and fleet applications to build a project roadmap. As a founding member of our NAM team, you will be a critical part of crafting our story as we shift to a software & services business model, thanks to a strong collaboration with our marketing team.

R&D Team

Reports to: Senior Director, NAM eMobility R&D

Mission


  • As a System architect, with strong understanding of standards and customer needs, you will create the functional and technical architecture of our new offers

  • Drive the early definition of new products and platforms, by bringing your multi-disciplinary talent to assess the feasibility, propose architectures and technologies

  • Drive a small execution group to explore, test and early validate concepts, through demos with customers internal/external


  • Propose and size a road map of sub-projects to regularly feed the delivery pipe

  • Define preliminary specifications and invariants

  • Support the project team during the development with your expertise

  • Identify the key competencies required and participate in the R&D team evolution

  • Lead the upstream phase of the study


  • Design technical solutions, following analysis of the customer needs formulated in the specification framework

  • Prepare more complex flow charts, models, and procedures and conduct feasibility studies to design possible system solutions

How you'll enrich our team


  • Collaborate with teams from other lines of business or external partners to propose the optimum architecture


  • Provide technical advice during large or difficult negotiations, or with customers who are of strategic importance to the organization

  • Collaborate with teams to estimate the costs and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing systems products to meet customer needs

  • Familiarity with North American market requirements

  • Disciplined design approach across all phases of development

  • Able to drive solutions across peripheries to ensure great results in an optimal manner for the organization

Background Characteristics


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

  • 7 year experience working in complex software development projects

  • Able to drive technical developments from scratch


  • Strong ability to specify complex systems

  • Strong experience of product communication and Networking protocol

  • Excellent written and verbal communications, ability to tailor to all levels of an organization

  • Cybersecurity essential knowledge
