Michael Baker International is hiring an experienced Senior Financial Analyst with 5+ years' experience to join our growing Finance team supporting our Federal business vertical. This position has the flexibility of a remote work environment within the U.S. with periodic travel to the Northern VA and Pittsburgh, PA areas; Eastern Standard business hours are expected.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be the lead financial support for the Federal business vertical reporting to the Director of Corporate FP&A working daily with the Federal Management Team. This role will perform and support all finance related aspects associated with federal projects, operations, financial and project management as well as the formulation and execution of Business Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Analysis. It also contributes to the development and monitoring of strategic objectives that lead to the improvement and growth of our Federal business vertical.

• Drive the annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and 5-year strategic planning processes for both operations and functional support within the business vertical
• Analyze and communicate financial information to management in a concise and effective manner to help drive fiscally sound financial decisions; be proactive in communicating current financial status, key trends, and financial implications
• Assist the Federal Regional Director and PMO Director with project performance analysis, resource management analysis, and sales funnel analysis as part of monitoring ongoing financial health of the organization
• Evaluate the reasonableness of proposed project costs and prices, review proposals, and identify margin improvement opportunities; Perform and assist with cost/price and price-to-win analyses and develop pricing templates and models to evaluate different strategies and "what-if" scenarios
• Aid in the development and automation of consistent financial/operational packages and reporting to provide ease of analysis at the Leadership and Operational levels
• Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar; Masters' degree a plus
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in FP&A, leadership experience a plus
• Experience with various financial/reporting tools (Hyperion, Smartsheets, Essbase, Oracle)
• Excellent analytical skills in financial modeling (Excel), pricing, preparing, and presenting business cases
• Experience working with US government financial reporting requirements (i.e., contracts, practices, and procedures) a plus
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and recommended actions to all levels of the organization, using negotiation, persuasion, and discretion to accomplish objectives and deliver results
• Ability to drive projects to completion in a complex, deadline driven environment
• Demonstrate leadership qualities and have the ability to multitask and work efficiently under the pressure of stringent timelines and proposal deadlines
