Manages and supports the capture, scoping, and definition of new process and system capabilities across Merchandising, Planning and Allocation functions. The position requires an understanding of the retail business model, the product cross-functional team, how technology can be leveraged to support retail business objectives and Scope and Requirements definition. This individual will work with business partners, developers and subject matter experts to capture and document functional requirements for new capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work across business and IT functions to improve existing tools and processes; identify and capture new business requests; and, respond or redirect support/process questions from end-users
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
Coordinate across IT personnel to define new solutions and capabilities that will meet approved business requirements
Manage and Support definition of requirements including documenting processes, business requirements, resulting technology needs and implementation
Assist the Project Managers and project team in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new functionality.
Assist the IT team in management, prioritization, and project initiation for business requests and opportunities
Work with application development staff to coordinate the creation and management of new functionality providing necessary business process input for implementation
Defines business Use Cases and associated high-level test scenarios; participates in QA testing efforts and user acceptance testing
Partner with various business units in the organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved processes
Help to plan new projects including creating communication plans; project communications, and develop and deliver user training.
Skills & Abilities
Experience in managing Merchandising or planning or corporate systems is required
Retail experience is required
Self-starter / self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision.
