Summary:

Responsible for coordination of maintenance planning activities between operation and maintenance groups for planned / scheduled intervention of assets with objective to improve efficiency and productivity of the maintenance workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate with operations, the planning / scheduling of maintenance requests. This includes determining and establishing asset availability, work order priorities, backlog analysis, as well as review and if warranted, modify recommended planned maintenance actions and plant-wide shutdown work.

  • Use independent judgment and discretion to develop / validate job tasks associated with PM and PdM procedures for manufacturing equipment and update as needed in CMMS.

  • Screen and analyse job requests for comprehensiveness, job requirements and feasibility in agreement with operation, and/or engineering and maintenance.

  • Make independent determinations of resource requirements including crew size and hours, bill of materials, (source materials not in stock and forward to purchasing, determine special tools, external resources (rigging, scaffolding, etc), provide total cost for labor, materials, external resources.

  • Exercise judgment to create detailed job plan, review equipment history and previously completed similar jobs, shutdown requirements, identify safe work practices and special procedures, task dependencies, required permits, prints, drawings, pictures, etc..

  • Review work order closeout information including man-hours charged, materials used and comments for future planning improvement and develop recommendations for process improvements.

  • Work with the maintenance/reliability engineer in developing new equipment maintenance procedures to support mechanical integrity.

  • Prepare scope definitionandestimates for improvement projects (Operations, Project Engineering, Maintenance, Utilities)

  • Review CMMS data accuracy in relation to the planning function.

  • Report Key Performance Indicators to measure planning efficiency and make recommendations on modifications to Key Performance Indicators using judgment and discretion.

  • Supports management of MRO inventory and makes recommendations for process improvements

  • Supports manager in preparation and monitoring of expense budget and recommend modifications to budget.

Education/Experience:

Required:


  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Greater than 5 years' experience in chemical, food, pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

  • Preferred experience in inventory control and management

  • Preferred experience in planning / scheduling with industrial equipment

  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical/chemical equipment, parts and supplies.



Language Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures, technical catalogs.Ability to read and understand governmental regulations and company policy and procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions managers, co-workers, customers, vendors and the general workforce.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, multi-task, effectively use independent judgment and discretion in performing tasks and making modifications and recommendations

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, and Excel software, and CMMS systems.

Certificate & Licenses:

Formal training in maintenance planning / scheduling preferred

May, and has the ability to, supervise exempt and non-exempt employees
