Summary:

We are currently hiring a Manufacturing Formulations Specialist at our Millersburg, Oregon location. You will report into our Consolidations Manager. This is a day shift position and typically works Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with some flexibility. As a Formulations Specialist, you are instrumental in creating the recipe to start the high performance alloys we supply for our customers.

This individual will be mainly tasked to manage inventory, to complete recipes and formulations for melting, create support documents and work instructions for the operators. A successful Formulations Specialist will be able to work in a fast paced environment, juggle multiple tasks at once, organize priorities, work independently, and is a strong communicator who is detail oriented and understands the purpose of processes and procedures.

In order to be successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly grasp ATI's processes and work with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Planning and union employees. The Formulations Specialist will be able to work with diverse personalities, have strong interpersonal skills and exceptional computer and math skills.

Primary Responsibilities
Employees in this position are responsible for performing a wide variety of responsibilities related to the assignment and flow of material, ensuring internal and customer requirements are met. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Receiving and evaluating order requirements, preparing production travelers, mill instructions, and work instructions.
* Providing instructions for producing final products that will meet specifications in accordance with approved processes.
* Determining and assigning specific materials and quantities.
* Performing matrix calculations related to alloy composition and understanding equipment capacity.
* Tracking inventories focusing on reducing and controlling inventory at specific levels to meet ATI Business System goals and objectives.
* Managing raw material inventory flow across multiple departments.
* Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery.
* Support transfer of raw materials to support scheduling requirements.
* Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, physical inventory and Kanban levels.
* Provide general reporting and data analysis on raw material and inventory levels to improve and optimize the process.
* Applying ATI Management Core Values, Business Ethics and Safety Vision in performing daily activities and in behavior towards staff members, coworkers, customers and vendors.

Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED.
* Advanced MS Office & Excel experience.
• At least one year of inventory control, raw material, planning or warehouse experience.
* Prior experience of material control principles, forecasting, and inventory.

Preferences

* Ability to maintain a safe work environment through safety audits and observations.
* Ability to apply algebraic principles to material formulations in order to achieve chemistry requirements for final product.
* Bachelor's Degree.
* 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle and/or Keystone.
* Ability to handle several projects at once in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Solid analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills required to translate complex requirements into simple language and/or activities and communicate to operation department personnel.
