Quality Assurance Associate

This position is responsible for enforcing current quality and food safety systems as well as developing and implementing innovative solutions to quality and food safety systems to ensure operational conformance to consumer and customer expectations within the pet food industry.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures all criteria, as it pertains to the positive release of pet vitamin/trace mineral premixes, are met prior to the shipment of any pet product - holding of product, collection of samples, enforcing sampling protocols, delivery of samples to the lab, retains vs reference sample verification, releasing product in accordance with all customer specifications/requirements.
  
  


• Investigates and manages customer complaint issues and drives continuous improvement at site level.

  Monitor and report Customer Complaint trends and history.

  
  

  Assist in facilitating corrective & preventative action programs for pet vitamin/trace mineral premix related products.
  

  
  


• Ensures all customer required documents accompany the product prior to shipping (CoA's, SDS, BOL, etc.).
  
  


• According to the written SOPs, collect, scan and perform NIR scanning on defined ingredients and manufactured pet premixes. Establishing and maintaining NIR models may also be required.
  
  

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 2 Year Associates Degree or higher
  
  


• 3-5 years of experience in animal feed manufacturing (preferably pet food)
  
  


• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP), ISO, and Regulatory Guidelines.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working in a food manufacturing, food safety or food science environment.
  
  


• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  
  


• 3 years experience in Quality, Food Safety or Regulatory Services
  
  


• Knowledge of Food
  
  


• PCQI Certified
