Your Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor for John Deere Horicon Works in Horicon, Wisconsin, you will be responsible for achieving departmental/area goals and objectives. Supervises production and warehouse employees in operations or processes requiring semi-skilled employees to ensure that the goals of the department and organization are achieved. The supervisor is the first-line liaison between the production employees and the management staff and thus also serves the function of representing the company's interests with the shop floor staff. In addition you will:

• Manage first shift weld and assembly operations required to improve and sustain the safety, quality, and productivity of our ongoing first shift operations
• Directdepartmental continuous improvement plans and activities
• MonitorControl Plans, troubleshoots workmanship problems and generally supervises production activities to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements
• Implementand monitorsafety programs and housekeeping
• Determinemanufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and makes daily assignments including filling vacancies and assigning overtime in order to adhere to the customer delivery date
• Establishemployee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance
• Ensurethat assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job
• Be responsible for on-boarding, training, development and direct supervision of full-time and seasonal employees
• Administeremployee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit. Monitors individual and line performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed and responds to complaints to ensure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures and work rules
• Monitorand makecorrections to stay within the department operating budget targets
• Work off-shift and weekend support occasionally based on business needs

What Skills You Need

• Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities
• Understanding of Production Systems, Lean Manufacturing, Just-in- Time, Kanban, Demand Flow Technology
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Knowledge of shop floor manufacturing and/or warehouse and distribution production pay systems
• Cross functional work experience(s) in major areas such as accounting, manufacturing, engineering, operations, warehousing and/or distribution, production employee supervision, and supply management
• This position will may require off-shift and weekend support

What Makes You Stand Out

• 2 or more years of demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience
• 2 or more years of manufacturing experience in a factory environment
• Understanding of employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit
• Knowledge of CIPP
• Project management experience including creating a plan, coordinating resources and delivering results
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• University degree or 4 year work equivalent in Supply Management, Business, Manufacturing Technology or Engineering
