Summary:

This position is a bench level job in the Research and Development group at Rebiotix and will focus on innovative research and early development of novel microbiome-directed therapeutics and test methods.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:


  • Design and execute experiments with minimal guidance, including analysis and interpretations of results.

  • Manage external collaborations for routine method development and performance.

  • Contribute to the writing of technical methods and SOP's.

  • Document experimentation through high-quality report writing that incorporates detail and big-picture perspectives.

  • Maintain expertise through familiarity with current and historic scientific literature.

  • Interface with Quality Control/Assurance, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams as necessary.

  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary R&D team.

  • Present data and network at local or national meetings as appropriate.

Requirements:


  • Master's degree in biological science or bioengineering field with 5-7 years' experience. Ph.D. with 3-5 years' experience preferred.

  • Molecular biology method development expertise, qPCR, digital PCR, etc. required.

  • Prefer Next generation sequencing library preparation, troubleshooting, execution, development experience.

  • Prefer experience transferring assays to other organizations, either internal or external.

  • Excellent writing, communication, and other organizational skills including use of databases required.

  • Knowledge of biological and chemical safety.

  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment.

  • Prefer Significant microbiology or microbiome research experience.

  • Bioinformatics experience preferred.

  • *Prefer demonstrated publication or deliverable record in a microbiology laboratory setting.
