The Broad Institute is looking for an exceptional candidate for a Cell Culture Research Associate position in the Cancer Program. This position affords the exciting opportunity to join the PRISM team to optimize our current assays and develop new molecular based technologies for phenotypic readouts.

The successful candidate will play a key role in a world class cell culture facility to grow and pool cancer cell lines used for various assays and screens. Duties of a cell culture lab will be the majority of the time/responsibility required for this role. Other responsibilities will include: maintain optimal stocks of the cell collection and perform quality control tests and intense record keeping. This role is an integral part of the PRISM team and offers the opportunity to interact with many groups at the Broad Institute.

The successful candidate will:


  • Support quality control assessment of the cancer cell lines including preparation of pellets for PCR and sequencing, shipping samples for STR profiling and SNP fingerprinting, as well as mycoplasma testing with PCR.


  • Be required to track all cell line metadata in our registration software and other forms of work tracking.


  • Have a potential opportunity to cross-train with the PRISM team for other experiments and assays.


The candidate should have a high attention to detail and be extremely organized.
