Hill is seeking a Construction Inspector in San Jose, CA

Inspectors shall be responsible for monitoring the Contractor's work and progress in accordance with the Contract Documents. Inspectors shall assist the Resident Engineer in the performance of the daily construction monitoring as well as perform the following functions:

* Monitor Contractor's operations to ensure work is being performed in a safe manner

* Perform witness and record tests

* Perform concrete testing per ACI guidelines

* Generate weekly reports to the Railroad on safety aspects of Contractor's operations

* Generate daily inspection reports to document the work performed by the contractor

* Ensure that the safety security and fire protection regulations are implemented and maintained

* Issues notices warnings and Stop Work Orders to Contractors in the event that safety regulations are violated and order remedial measures

* Monitor Contractor's accident reports for accuracy and completeness

* Locate and establish service with local medical facility and /or hospital to ensure prompt transport and treatment for any injuries that might occur

* Maintain site First Aid Kits

* Maintain injury record/reporting system for worker's compensation purposes

* Review claims with insurance company as necessary

* Identification and recording of new employees and visitors

* Review of required insurance documents for contractor compliance prior to their start of work

* Maintain file(s) of approved Contractors and sub-contractors of any type working on the project

* Maintain additional records or documents as required

Qualifications

* Individual must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the performance of construction inspection duties and three (3) years or equivalent experience in construction of major public facilities
