Job Summary

Manages the daily operations of the Global Health Department and Sponsored Programs including the Patient Assistance Program, which provides care to uninsured and underinsured children.  Develops, coordinates, and enforces policies, procedures, and productivity standards.  Establishes strategic goals by conducting data analysis, identifying, and evaluating program trends.

Job Specific Duties


  • Manages the planning, development, and implementation of the Patient Assistance Fund Program.

  • Identifies program needs and defines major tasks and milestones based on scope, resources, budget, and personnel.

  • Facilitates all functions of Sponsored Program Steering Committees (Governance, operations and program monitoring) and Clinical Oversight Committee (Review clinical data and case selection).

  • Serves as the primary point of contact between NCH and NCHF for operational updates and new requests for Patient Assistance Program.

  • Oversees development, implementation, and adherence to program policies/procedures and revises them as necessary to maximize efficiency, quality, productivity, and donor/patient experience.

  • Responsible for collaborating with Clinicians and CPO on the development of a price estimates for patients sponsored by the Patient Assistance Program.  Collaborates with PFS to maintain accurate financial summaries of all cases to ensure consistency in the execution of financial procedures.

  • Continuously involved in identifying operational efficiencies and working with operational leader to execute these opportunities.

  • Responsible for identifying potential risk areas within area of responsibility and for supporting the problem resolution process.

  • Develops strong team-centered relationships with Service Line Leaders, NCHS physicians, and staff to ensure seamless patient experience and encourage continued support of all GH sponsored programs.

  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies & procedures related to area of responsibility.  Reporting of compliance activities to the Compliance Office.

  • Serves as primary point of contact for patients and families funded through the Patient Assistance Program.  Monitors patient flow and supports patient throughout their experience utilizing appropriate resources.

  • Responsible for projects and initiatives for Global programs as requested by leader.

Minimum Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field 

  • 4-7 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting

  • 1-3 years of Supervisory/Management experience

  • Proficiency in oral and written English and one additional language (Spanish, Arabic, or other)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Fluent in Spanish preferred.

  • Project management and program oversight.

  • Ability to utilize Excel skills to perform various duties.

  • Knowledge of group leadership.

  • Able to adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.

  • Able to constructively cooperate with patients, employees, and management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
