Overall:

The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operation of Human Resources at the location with approximately 300 employees, along with the HR Manager. They will support human resource strategies in addition to supporting employees with HR processes, procedures and people systems.

Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate all aspects of internal and external recruitment and selection processes. Posts all positions on the applicant tracking system, coordinates interview schedules and candidate travel arrangements, tracks applicant flow, and coordinates administration of various pre-placement screening processes. Completes all new hire documents and data input.
  • Coordinate, update and deliver new hire orientation.
  • Support and assist local management and the leadership team with handling and resolving human resource issues and questions, including employee relations.
  • Create employee engagement plans, including planning, budgets, communication, deployment, etc.
  • Deploy the annual performance management process for hourly employees.
  • Deploy and participate in Compensation Process including: merit increases, and performance pay bonuses for the location.
  • Assist in implementation and administration of company HR policies, procedures and programs.
  • Partner with the local community to determine appropriate Howmet Foundation grants.
  • Maintenance and administration of the employee databases, including: HRIS, Performance Management, Talent Management, Compensation, and Reward & Recognition programs.
  • Assists with the preparation and completion of the annual Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Advises management of policies and procedures, various state and federal regulations, salary-related issues and effective human resources practices in regards to employee issues.
  • Maintains Auditing Self-Assessment Tool (ASAT) responsibilities/assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of Human Resources
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer a bachelor's degree is in Human Resources.
  • Prefer bilingual in Spanish
  • HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • HR experience at a large global corporation that includes partnering with an HR Shared Services function.
  • Experience in a HR rotational development program at a large company.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems.
