CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Program Director, Health Equity with expertise in public health, acute care and/or health insurance industry verticals to join our team. The successful applicant will have a track record demonstrating their ability to effectively partner across cross-functional teams to seamlessly optimize health care delivery. Experience in clinical settings is preferred. Directs the management and implementation of new and existing Health Equity dashboards to track and monitor trends across the organization for improvement. Assumes the daily organizational management of Health Equity initiatives that are focused on transforming, optimizing and enhancing care delivery and its processes via the application of health equity principles, best practices, and scientific clinical research. This position will report to the System Director, Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Directs and implement health equity work which requires working with multiple partners to examine and reshape practices, power and influence for more equitable outcomes.
Manges effective partnerships with key stakeholders and decision makers by serving as a SME and convener of initiatives to address health disparities in collaboration with local ministry leaders, health officials, community leaders and state agencies.
Directs community health equity programs, as well as guide changes in practice that impact clinical, financial, or operational outcomes and develop action plans to address areas for improvement
Assures that Health Equity activities are documented and reported within the organization and externally as appropriate.
Partners with system, ministry, and community leaders to improve scores on all Health Equity indicators.
Oversees and assists in managing programmatic data exchange, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as interpretation and illustrations of such, to provide meaningful program management.
Interprets and presents findings from work teams to appropriate committees of the hospital, medical staff, and vendor partners.
Assist System Director and VP with the development of strategy and vision for Health Equity initiatives.
Develops Health Equity education programs/interventions for staff and medical staff/residents.
Communicates clearly and effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in written fashion, to achieve goals.
Delivers coaching on Health Equity improvement methodology and indicators for leadership teams.
Facilitates the development of service line or disparity specific Health Equity efforts/programming and executes them.
Presents and discusses Health Equity indicators with physician leadership, Health Equity/Diversity and Inclusion senior leaders and staff.
Systematically applies and teaches the science of Health Equity principals and best practices, quality/process improvement, and project management to achieve results on time and within budget.
Provides guidance to others as needed for non-routine and/or complex problems/ situations
Guide regional HEDI Councils initiatives around health equity best practices and tactics for measuring change, develop a regional health equity plan, and provide quality resources or services that add value to the local FQHC partnerships.
Develop and execute project work plan according to project scope, deadlines, client needs and resource availability.
Oversee and Monitor project team activities and drive resolution of delays or technical issues

Masters degree in Public Health, clinical discipline, IT or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
5 years of relevant professional experience (preferably in equity advocacy or systems change efforts) including experience working in or with communities of color or other underserved communities, working with institutional leadership, facilitating meetings, measuring and monitoring program evaluation activities
Experience in clinical settings, strongly preferred
Demonstrated capacity and ability to manage start-up initiatives and determination to achieve outcomes, with strong group facilitation skills and strategic planning
Advance Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Advanced knowledge of business intelligence tools, (i.e., Microstrategy)
Advanced knowledge of EPIC and Meditech, strongly preferred
Clear and complete understanding of the difference and delineation between architecture and high-level design is required.
Strong public health, business and technology decision making skills are required.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and strong leadership skills to effectively influence decisions and positively impact progress are required.
Excellent time-management skills and organizational agility, including the ability to effectively balance multiple deliverables, cross-functional partners and priorities under tight timelines
Has detailed understanding and can skillfully use the techniques of system design, reengineering, project management, data driven quality improvement science, outcomes measurement, and statistical analysis.
10+ years of previous experience managing through influence and serving as a SME in guiding health equity work.
Experience working with EMRs in the hospital, clinic and physician practice setting, assessing health equity data needs.
Managing the delivery of solutions across internal and external cross-functional teams to achieve goals on or ahead of schedule.
Detailed analytics experience with patient quality data with strength in measurement and evaluation
Ability to discover and define functional requirements and to transform them into technical requirements and architecture definition.
Understanding of health care regulations, and quality reporting (i.e., Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance, CMS, etc.)
Strong hands-on experience with extracting multiple data-sets, manipulating data, and ability to conduct detailed root-cause analyses, integrate multiple data sets, generate insights and provide innovative business solutions
