Job Description:

The eCommerce Product Manager for is a key leadership role within our global Marketing organization. This role is responsible for leading the development of new software features, managing the portfolio of existing software tools, and setting long term strategy as the primary business requirement writer. The role requires significant collaboration with customers to understand their needs, iterate on solution design, and prioritize feature/solution development. In addition, the role requires significant collaboration with Software Engineers and Software Developers to ensure software features being developed will meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.


The eCommerce Product Manager will focus on commercial growth and enhancements of current software solutions, and on informing the software product roadmap through continuous engagement with customers and IT teams. Current solutions include multiple CRMs, partial PIM and home-grown eCommerce. Potential projects include complete PIM, DAM, CIAM, single CRM, and migration towards holistic digital customer portal.


You will excel in this role as you partner with business and IT to define a digital platform that allows customers to manage samples, transact and research seamlessly on the same platform.


This person will also need to develop the strategy for transitioning existing internal users and customers from legacy software platforms to new state of the art platforms. Catering to software enabled workflows is a critical & highly strategic priority within Marketing. Thus, strong communication skills, high business acumen, and an analytical & strategic mindset are critical to this role.



Key Focus Areas:



  • Collaborate with IT to identify, prioritize, & document new requirements on software solutions

  • Work with IT leadership & software developers to ensure software solutions being developed will meet or exceed customer expectations

  • Complete Marketing related tasks in the New Product Development process, including Pro Forma analyses, Product Requirements Specification, Beta Test Plans, & new tool introduction Plans

  • Analyze trends with current software portfolio (financial performance, competitive pressures, market/regulatory trends) to identify solutions that needs to be upgraded, repositioned, or removed from the portfolio

  • Develop short- and long-term software strategy for the company's commercial technology through deep understanding of market trends and competitive advantages

  • Collaborate with other marketing and executive staff in the development of marketing & sales plans to ensure commercial success of the software portfolio

  • Provide a feedback loop for sales, marketing, and product teams to exceed market and customer expectations

  • Enable other marketing staff to successfully develop and launch marketing campaigns for new products

  • Identify market trends and competitor moves that may impact the business and deliver plans to capitalize on opportunities and respond to competitor threats

  • Lead the strategic plan creation, improvement, and implementation to deliver growth, profitability, and share gain through software commercialization

  • Present new tool plans and portfolio strategies to the executive leadership team to gain support and alignment

  • Ensure frequent communication with key customers to continuously gather customer feedback


Candidate Education/ Experience/ Attributes:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Software Engineering/Computer Science

  • Minimum 6 years of progressive leadership experience in a technical environment

  • Demonstrated experience in software marketing and/or product management within a B2B SaaS environment with exposure to large-scale software projects and cross-functional involvement in a variety of areas

  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through commercialization of software products

  • Experience working within in an agile development environment

  • Qualitative and quantitative market research skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries.

  • Coordinate across teams and resources and resolve any inability to meet project deadlines

  • Comfortable presenting to a wide range of audiences including executives, customers, and partners

  • Demonstrated product management experience, with proven ability to influence without direct authority

  • Ability to build strong high-level executive and peer relationships

  • Strong business acumen and technical knowledge

  • Driver of operational excellence and continuous improvement to differentiate and excel in growth

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully balance the achievement of short-term objectives (quarterly orders/sales objectives, expense management, etc.) with longer-term strategic and policy deployment goals

  • Bias for action with strong results orientation

  • Willingness to take a critical view of stretch goals and initiatives to drive breakthrough results

  • Demonstrated experience in leading aggressive and results-driven brand management and product planning strategies utilizing Voice of the Customer (VOC) to identify growth opportunities for the company
