Job Description:

DESCRIPTION

A Project Control Specialist plays a key role in the operations of the team. This includes assisting Project Managers in the development of cost proposals, contract coordination, pursuit forms and invoicing support. Effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for projects. Some of the additional expected duties would include project tracking, expenditure forecasting, and budget analysis. Attending meetings and providing daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Performing change control, project scheduling, sub-consultant contract agreements, and preparation of Project Management documents (e.g. Project Management Plan, Financial Risk Management Plan, etc.). Beyond project management support, provide support to local office management in the development and tracking of annual operating plan.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial control, reporting, monitoring, and contact analysis decisions with Project Manager
• Provides progress and performance reporting for the project
• Provides cost control analysis, including trend reports
• Provides risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Frequent contact with project management, project team members, Michael Baker management personnel, as well as occasional contacts with client management
• Post job analysis and creation of client value adds
• Issues project cost reports including forecast final costs and variances

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline, business, management, or 5 or more years of experience in Project Controls in a design and construction environment
• Prior budget and project controls experience in local government, engineering or construction is preferred
• Strong technical proficiency in MS Office applications is required; knowledge of MS Project, SharePoint and ProjectWise is strongly preferred
• Experience with Oracle ERP preferred.
