We are seeking a Systems Engineer to be part of our Datacenter System Engineering Team. In this exciting role, you will build NVIDIA's next generation of Enterprise Class Server Computing products for the HGX and DGX product lines. You will contribute towards the development of groundbreaking next generation architectures involving all aspects of product definition, design and execution. You will also help navigate critical decisions in our server development efforts by balancing the integration of silicon, optics, modules, baseboards, systems, thermal-mechanical and industrial designs into optimized datacenter clusters. You will enjoy exposure to a wide range of innovations, technologies and expertise. You will interact closely with exceptional engineers, architects and the industry-leading technical specialists while being an integral member of a collaborative distributed team. The qualified candidate will possess a balance of skills that include electrical engineering, knowledge of software, firmware and embedded systems. A strong background in Linux is highly valuable. Experience in validating and troubleshooting of sophisticated computing systems is a key skill set.

What you'll be doing:


  • Help envision, create and deliver NVIDIA's datacenter products.


  • Work closely with architecture and design teams to insure products under development are functional, serviceable, manufacturable and reliable.


  • Work with cross-disciplined team such as SW, reliability, supply chain management, and sustaining engineering to optimally deliver product to production.


  • Virtually or directly lead teams globally to deliver schematic and PCB layout guidance, signal integrity analysis, feedback on thermal, mechanical, industrial design elements, as well as participating in reviews of Bill Of Material (BOM) and validation activities.


  • Gather and curate creative technical concepts from a wide variety of technical contributors to help define our next generation data center products.


  • Provide product status updates, communicate issues internally, help drive tactical decisions around setting priorities and solving issues.


  • Be a first 'customer' for an early instance of a new technology, help clear the path to deliver world-class products that maximize usability, deployability and reliability for our customers.


  • Perform first system bring-ups, help debug challenging issues.


  • Participate as a member of an extended team to support Validation Engineers.


  • Exhibit attention to details on product execution with a focus on product quality and usability.


  • Define and execute diagnostic software to support engineering, production test, and debug efforts for server products.



What we need to see:

  • BS required or equivalent experience (Masters preferred) in Applied Science or Engineering with 5+ years of overall experience.


  • 5 or more years of relevant engineering experience in a product-development environments.


  • Proficiency with Linux operating system, CLI shells, programming and scripting.


  • Good understanding of silicon development, bring-up to production flow.


  • Confirmed experience with >20Ghz high speed signaling, high speed networking topologies, thermal, mechanical and acoustic interactions.


  • Experience in using current circuit design tools, preferably Cadence Allegro Schematic Design Entry (Concept HDL), Allegro PCB Layout and familiarity with Creo (Pro-E) 3D CAD.


  • Experience with the latest Tektronix and Agilent oscilloscopes along with debugging techniques to tackle complex board level problems.


  • Strong communication skills, both verbal, and written. Ability to communicate effectively with key customers to help resolve technical issues.


  • Background in DC/DC power supply design, both system and board level implementations.


  • Key collaborators, with a "can do" perspective, high degree of passion for solving issues that span multiple areas of expertise, and a recorded of success working with management, partners, and peers to achieve success for the team.
