Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Build electrical control panels from CAD drawings and modify existing control panels which aligns with test and project requirements.
Wire control panels from electrical drawings cleanly and neatly in a timely manner.
Experience with AC/DC motors, VFD’s, electric components (circuit breakers, transformers, switches, etc.), control panels, conduit and fittings, wires and cables, insulators, soldering, etc.
Developing and implementing long term plan for equipment controls upgrades
Support capital equipment procurement in coordination with purchasing group.
Develop test processes and equipment that optimizes quality, operator economics and efficiency.
Provide operator training as requested
Support activities for developing test equipment controls and product control interfaces with test equipment.
Assist in troubleshooting of test benches – LabView, MTS
Follow Program Management and Stage Gate development process to meet project goals
Implement Continuous improvement ideas using Dana Operating System methods.
Requirements:
Associates Degree or equivalent
Minimum one year of experience in a manufacturing or testing environment
Ability to generate and understand electrical drawings.
Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting experience preferred.
Knowledge of National Instruments hardware, and LabView programming (Core I, Core II) preferred.
Knowledge and implementation experience of Ethernet and serial data protocols, particularly CAN, preferred
Ability to successfully function in a matrix style organization, working with a variety of cross-functional team members
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
Discipline and urgency when completing assignments and associated responsibilities
Must be self-directed and motivated individual who is organized and able to accept multiple tasks and responsibilities
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside the organization in a professional manner
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
Support additional activities as requested.
Willing to work extra hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
Good computer skills with Microsoft Office.
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays and off-shifts as requested
Must be reliable and maintain a good attendance record
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Able to lift up to 35 lbs. repetitively and stand for approximately 90% of the time.
