Your Responsibilities

As a 3rd Shift Material Flow Module Leader for John Deere Seeding located in Moline, IL, you will manage the wage work force to: safely and efficiently receive and deliver materials, meet the published schedule, improve work force productivity, and reduce costs. In addition, you will:

• Achieve departmental/area goals and objectives
• Supervise semi- to highly skilled production employees and/or material handlers on multiple shifts to ensure the delivery of materials and manufacture of products within established safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards
• Act as first-line liaison between the production employees and the management staff and thus also serves the function of representing the company's interests with the shop floor staff

What Skills You Need

• Manufacturing experience in material flow, operations, manufacturing engineering or supply management
• Strong coaching and facilitation skills coupled with a good foundation in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated understanding of employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules
• Excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment
• Experience with, or supporting, shop floor manufacturing and/or warehouse operation
• Demonstrated team leadership skills
• Ability to work third shift hours

• Demonstrated strength in business skills and knowledge of customer expectations
• Experience with W-planner and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of the UAW contract
• Material flow experience
• Experience with planters
• Experience leading people

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's degree or in lieu of a degree 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
