Job Description:

At Shipt, we are transforming the grocery shopping experience and giving time back to consumers. Shipt shoppers handpick fresh groceries and household essentials, then deliver them to your door in as little as one hour.

At Shipt, we’re using analytics, inference, and experimentation to drive our business forward. We’re looking for help understanding our data, optimizing our processes, and making predictions to improve our product and shopper experience.The data science team builds data driven solutions using rigorous analytical and modeling techniques. Our solutions include predictive models, clustering, segmentation, complex reporting, and quantitative research. Our insights and inference team team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to focus on advanced analytics and inferential techniques. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, intellectually curious, and a clear communicator.
 

Responsibilities
Develop a thorough understanding of our data and interpret them as they relate to shopper behavior, operations, profitability, and product development
Analyze data, assess trends, derive insights and identify key partnership opportunities to help build strategic business plans. 
Design dashboards and data visualizations to communicate meaningful metrics for our stakeholders in shopper experience
Assist in building and auditing existing predictive and forecasting models. 
Build ETL data pipelines for dashboard automation for internal business usage and our stakeholders
Find opportunities for improvement in reporting; modify existing tools, techniques, or processes to improve our data-driven partnerships.

Requirements
3+ years of experience with data analysis and turning data into insights and recommendations
Expertise in experimentation and general statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, causal inference, study design, and knowledge of how to leverage these skills to solve complex business problems.
Strong SQL skills are required 
Experience with a Business Intelligence tool is required (Tableau)
Experience with a statistical scripting language (e.g., R or Python)
Ability to build compelling presentations from data that summarizes complicated data and insights.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.

Nice To Haves 
Familiarity with AWS, version control, and peer code review systems
Expertise in experimentation methods (e.g. A/B testing, synthetic controls)
Experience in grocery-retail, or e-commerce.
Proficiency in both R and Python
