We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:


  • Utilize acquired knowledge and skills related to perioperative nursing care, procedures, and equipment in order to provide safe, individualized patient care.

  • Assume the overall responsibility for management of the operating room to which he/she is assigned.

  • Remain attentive to the progress of the surgical procedure and needs of individual team members by watching and listening, giving Nurse Manager adequate notification of delays, conflicts, problems, etc.

Education:

Minimum - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Work Experience:

Minimum - 1 (one) year in perioperative patient care, emergency nursing, critical care or medical/surgical experience

Preferred - 1-2 (one – two) years of experience in Ambulatory Surgery Center

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - State of Wisconsin RN licensure. CPR certified. ACLS: required, or certification within 12 months of hire or transfer

Preferred - CNOR Certification preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Possess good communication skills and the ability to maintain interactive/interpersonal relationships

  • Possess a good working knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and legal aspects of nursing, and techniques, care and use of equipment used in an ambulatory surgery center setting

  • Interview/communication skills, nursing assessment skills, critical thinking/problem solving skills, and teaching/counseling skills

  • Computer experience with Microsoft, Windows applications and experience with health care applications

  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment with little supervision

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional demeanor

  • Ability to work as a member of a team

  • Ability to prioritize tasks

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

100% FTE (40 hours per week). 10 hour shifts, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 6:45 am to 5:15 pm. No weekend, call, or holiday requirements. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
