We currently have an opening for a Production Lead based at our site in Maple Grove, MN.

The Production Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Production staff in their work area. This includes planning and executing production demand. Manages and confirms production orders and ensures that production schedules are met. Manages inventory to ensure alignment with SAP. Provides support to production workers on new product introduction. Organizes assigned work and supervises and assist employees in daily work performance. Anticipates production and personnel problems and resolves problems to minimize their effect on production. Maintains good housekeeping and enforces safe work practices.

What You'll Do:


  • Plans and coordinates the work of staff, adjusting work assignments and scheduled to maintain adequate staffing levels and respond to fluctuating workloads.

  • Provides initial orientation to new employees, assess training needs of staff and arrange or provide appropriate instruction. Counsel employees in work related activities, personal growth and career development.

  • Reviews job orders and clarifies specifications as needed. Determine production processes required and job priorities based on due dates and production process. Coordinate production requirements and adjust operations, as needed, to meet workflow needs of all units.

  • Operates production equipment as necessary.

  • Interacts with Quality, Engineering and other groups as required.

  • Schedules and monitors preventative or corrective maintenance as required and schedule major equipment repair to minimize production down time.

  • Oversees and instructs staff on performance adjustments, maintenance, or repair to equipment.

  • Performs general troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment while maintaining production schedule.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

  • Provides training to others.

  • Follows instructions for completion of job tasks

  • Compliance with quality process and current good manufacturing processes.

  • Effective communication and the ability to delegate.

  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, and other safety procedures in accordance to the job.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:


  • High school diploma or equivalent plus five (5) or more years of experience.

  • Maintaining accurate production and time records.

Bonus Points For:


  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing and/or 6Sigma work environment.

  • Experience with SAP systems and creating reports.

  • Experience managing or leading teams of 3 or greater.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
