Business Intelligence Analyst Intern

ROLE STATEMENT:

The Business Intelligence Analyst Intern will work with technical IT personnel and business analysts to provide data and analytics solutions to Trimble's Agriculture Enterprise customers. Duties include creating data driven solutions, evaluating requirements, guiding data management and preparing design reports. This is an outcome-focused role. The successful candidate will be a quick learner and passionate about BI and data. You will use your talents and expertise to come up with solutions to complex business problems, both externally with clients and internally with your team. You are highly organized and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of client use-cases. Excellent communication & analytical skills are a must as you will regularly be translating business requirements and complex concepts for clients. Finally, you are a positive and upbeat individual joining an amazing team here at Trimble.

Working directly with client stakeholders, you will be responsible for both project scoping and technical development of custom dashboards & reports. You will help clients to access & visualize data in the way that makes the most sense for their business.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or related fields; construction industry experience considered an asset;




• Specialized skills in information design, data analysis, and data visualization, with strong experience using Power BI, SQL Server and Microsoft Excel.




• Experience using Excel, SQL & NOSQL, XML, REST API, and JSON.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop BI and SQL Server queries and connect to multiple data sources, import data, and transform data for use in BI solutions.




• Create, refine and automate data processes to ensure information is collected and made available to the end user accurately, on-time and with minimal manual intervention.




• Actively identify and implement opportunities for improvement of data analytics and data management.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:

• Strong data modeling, data governance, data management and schema design skills.




• Ability to utilize data virtualization, and modern data manipulation/management patterns (eg: data lakes).




• Ability to create compelling data visualizations for decision making.




• High degree of business acumen and an ability to understand operational use cases.




• Ability to independently gather and formally document requirements from business stakeholders.




• Superior organizational and time management skills.
