SUMMARYThe duty of the maintenance technician is to utilize their skills and experience to perform a high quality repair at a high level of productivity. The work is to be performed in a safe manner, both for the technician and their team members, observing all appropriate procedures and requirements. The job site is to be left clean and safe for others. The maintenance technician is part of a larger team whose responsibility is to continually increase reliability and efficiency of all of the various production processes and equipment. The technician will assist the team in solving all safety, quality and productivity problems encountered in the functioning of the Reliability Improvement Program.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMay include, but are not limited to, the following:Evaluation:Evaluate the job site to make sure it is safe for the technician and team members
Determine, prior to beginning the work, which appropriate permits and precautions are in place and all requirements are met
Determine if the proper parts have been reserved for the job described in the Work Order
Determine if all necessary support is available to complete the Work Order
Determine what tools are required to complete the job as described

Execution:Perform the work required in the Work Order in a manner that ensures the safety and efficiency of all involved
Perform the work required at an acceptable fast pace to assure high productivity
Perform the required work correctly the first time
Clean area after work has been completed
Properly document the cause of the failure based on the observations made during the repair and based upon the experience of the technician and others involved

Follow up:Review completed job briefly with Maintenance Supervisor to assure accurate information regarding the failure(s) is entered into the equipment history database and that job has been completed as required in Work Order
Review with the Planner and/or the Maintenance Supervisor the reasons for any variances exceeding the predetermined criteria
Express opinions about how this job might have been done faster, better and/or at less cost.
Discuss any additional training need identified

Communication:Work with all others to develop communication and a Team Environment

Must be willing to assist in training of others
Must be willing to work overnight shifts as assigned
Must be able and willing to operate a forklift
Employee will, at times, complete work in confined spaces or at heights. Must be willing and able to climb ladders
Respond to audible alarms when necessary
Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety as well as the safety of all personnel on site. Whenever appropriate, promptly report Safety, Health or Environmental incidents or issues to management so the situation can be corrected. Attend Monthly Safety Meetings to help prevent off site and job accidents

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate, who receives the job offer, must present proof they are fully vaccinated or are in the process of becoming fully vaccinated against COVID 19 as a condition of employment prior to their start date.
Position requires a HS Diploma or the equivalent
Must have one of the following:Completion of 2 year technical program (i.e. Industrial Maintenance) is preferred
Completion of recognized maintenance apprenticeship program is preferred, or
Must have 5+ years in petrochemical plant maintenance experience and NCCER certification

Must be willing to work overtime, over night shift schedules and assist other technicians or operators in performing a repair task. The ability to operate mobile equipment is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, recline or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to work in confined spaces. Employee is required to climb ladders and work at heights.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level in the work environment is usually loud as normally based in an outdoor plant environment. Most of the work will be required in the operating units which require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. Will also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs, ladders, and elevators.
