Swaging Technician 3rd Shift

NSK Swaging is a fast paced precision forming process that forces round work pieces through dies to produce the hollow shafts needed to manufacture NSK steering columns. Swaging is a core competency of NSK BVT with high future production volumes; the swaging technician is be an integral part of NSK's future success.

Responsibilities

The swaging technician is responsible for the daily production of steering shafts.

This includes: following safety guidelines at all times, using a variety of measurement equipment to verify that parts meet control plan specifications and meeting daily production quotas.

Additionally the swager technician must participate in product change overs, routine scheduled preventative maintenance activities and must be actively engaged in trouble shooting to resolves issues.

Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Able to follow written/verbal instruction

  • Ability to perform basic math and problem solving techniques.*

  • Mechanical Ability (Able to take a project and disassemble it and reassemble it)

  • Trouble shooting Skills (Can find root cause of a issue)

  • Self Motivated (Able to work alone)

  • Attention to detail

  • Pay will be based on skill level and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of their scheduled shift. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, hand, or feel; and talk to hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with arms and hands. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift/or move up to 40lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
