Arcadis is seeking a Wetland Biologist/Ecologist for our Wexford, PAoffice. We are looking for an experienced scientist to lead field data collection efforts associated with wetland delineations, endangered species habitat assessments, and environmental assessments. The position requires a thorough understanding of stream/wetland determination/delineation methods, and plant identification skills specific to the northeastern U.S. This position also requires familiarity with federal and state environmental permitting. This role will support several Arcadis clients, including various energy development projects (e.g., electrical transmission, natural gas pipeline, and renewable energy projects).

The applicant will have exceptional technical writing skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. This position will require field work and office work, at times spending a majority of the time in the field.

In this role, you will:


  • Lead field efforts, including wetland determination/delineation surveys, flora/fauna surveys, habitat assessments, and the completion of associated reporting.
  • Collect field data during field surveys using Trimble GeoX handheld units and tablets utilizing Collector and Survey 123 for ArcGIS.
  • Assist with the development of permit applications, including state and federal USACE Section 404/Section 10 permits and Section 401 Water Quality Certifications.
  • Lead agency consultations regarding threatened and endangered species and support species and habitat surveys.
  • Assist with writing and preparation of technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
  • Manage desktop environmental assessments using GIS and other available methods to address potential permitting requirements.
  • Support environmental assessments associated with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews. #LI-CA1
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or similar environmental discipline.
  • 2 years minimum of experience conducting and supporting wetland delineations using the U.S Army Corps of Engineers Midwest and/or Northcentral and Northeast Regional Supplements.Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1 year of experience leading a wetland delineation field team(s).
    • Wetland Professional in Traning (WPIT) from the Society of Wetland Scientists.
    • Experience with ArcGIS, Google Earth, and other desktop mapping applications.
    • Experience using GPS field technology.
