Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Business Manager, is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the Community COVID-19 Drive Through testing station.
This is a full-time temporary position working 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Clinical Competency
1 Demonstrates clinical competencies and best practice for the safe collection of a variety of swab tests for COVID-19 specimen collection using personal protection equipment.
2 Coordinate testing team, verify daily testing schedule, coordinate clerical prep activities with testing team, check in patients for their scheduled testing, verify and accurately update patient demographic information in, correctly label specimens, deliver and reconcile specimens at lab.
3 Demonstrates ability to work wearing personal protective equipment in a drive through covered tent environment (climate controlled in tent, tent covered drive through area).
4 Addresses patient's clinical questions and concerns related to COVID-19 community testing.
5 Assess complex concerns or ill appearing patients and refer to an appropriate level of care as condition requires, coordinating with the emergency department or TOP clinic for follow up care in a negative pressure environment as necessary

Patient Advocacy
1 Provides timely education regarding COVID-19 disease prevention, course of illness, quarantine requirements, home care and when to seek emergency care if symptoms worsen in a manner that is sensitive to individual, developmental and cultural needs.
2 Utilize appropriate resources for non-English speaking patients, hearing and sight impaired individuals, and/or concerns of healthcare illiteracy.
3 Take proactive steps to recognize and report suspected abuse including child abuse, sexual abuse, and spousal abuse. Reports suspected abuse appropriately to supervisor and per professional requirements.

Quality
1 Onsite quality control for specimen collection. Reconciliation of specimens with lab
2 Participates in quality reviews, audits and process improvement as needed.
3 Infection Control, strict adherence to hand hygiene, masking and PPE protocols. Follows infection prevention best practices and techniques to prevent the spread of illness
4 Demonstrates proficiency in donning and doffing necessary PPE for COVID-19 specimen collection. Provides guidance to technical staff on proper PPE usage.
Professionalism
1 Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and/or participating in professional societies.
2 Participate in organizational meetings as deemed necessary or as requested.
3 Adheres to the standards of profession as outlined by governing board (NH Board of Nursing, American Nurses Association, NH Bureau of Emergency Medical Service).
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program, or, graduate from an accredited Paramedic program.
Experience: Experience with Public Health endeavors, proficient use of PPE following CDC guidelines, Experience with Community COVID-19 specimen collection preferred.
New Hampshire license in good standing via NH BON or NH BEMS
