Your Responsibilities

As a Team Leader for John Deere Seeding Molinelocated in Moline, IL, we are looking for a leader to engage our production team, pursue and ensure safe manufacturing practices, deliver high quality and on-time products to our customers, and drive continuous improvement where you will:


  • Provide daily leadership to a production workforce in the manufacturing of Row Unit Components while achieving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and efficiency goals
  • Manage a wage work force and collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional support teams to prevent injuries, solve complex problems, produce quality products which exceed customer and design criteria, produce the published schedule of multiple demand streams, improve work force productivity, and reduce costs
  • Establish and maintain accountability for all applicable work rules, policies and procedures, including the administration of wage employee discipline when required
  • Empower employees, foster a positive work environment, and build engaged CI teams that elevate our culture through effective communication, coaching & mentoring, and leading by example

What Skills You Need


  • 2 or moreyears of demonstrated team leadership skills, including coaching and facilitation
  • 2 or more years of experience with manufacturing operations
  • 2 or more years of experience directly leading or supervising a workforce in a CIPP environment
  • 1or more years of experience with project or production planning and management
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome adversity and motivate a team to meet their objectives
  • Experience communicating and facilitating across functions (such as: manufacturing engineering, operations, quality engineering, material flow, supply management, and human resources)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekend overtime

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience in direct leadership or supervision of a union workforce
  • Experience with highly-integrated production systems (such as: Automatic Guided Vehicles, Manufacturing Execution Systems, smart tooling, etc.)
  • Experience with wage/union employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules
  • Experience with continuous improvement pay plans (CIPP), SAP, and Excel
  • Working knowledge of the CI 200 improvement process and 5S
  • Cross-functional experience in areas such as manufacturing engineering, labor relations, quality engineering, supply management, material flow, or facilities engineering

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelors Degree in a Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or Supply Management discipline or equivalent experience
