Job Description:

Provide Process Engineering support in Machining, Assembly and Stamping


POSITION RESPONSIBILITY

  • Establish objectives for assigned processes. Press speed optimization. Development of standardized work instructions.
  • Support and interact in Hexagon meetings
  • Creation of new standard documents and keep updates
  • Changeover improvement initiatives
  • Project Management of approved investment improvements for assigned area
  • Continuously improve the manufacturing improvements to achieve plant objectives
  • Initiate, plan, design, validate, document, communicate and train improvements to current process to ensure productivity, quality, safety and customer satisfaction
  • Manage process control, documentation of PFMEA's, work instructions and area assets
  • Serve as a Project Manager for various productive projects and customer engineering changes
  • Assist team in processing, quoting, implementing, launching and maintaining of engineering changes
  • Approve fixture and process designs
  • Additional responsibilities as required - this position is subject to change as the needs of the department changes

  • 100% on-time delivery to customer
  • Target 0 PPM on parts for all our customers (Metalsa and customer standard: 25 or less PPM)
  • Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them

Housekeeping

  • Maintain the appearance of a World Class Facility
  • Actively support full implementation of the 5S's, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat and properly maintained

Continuous Improvement/Training

  • Actively involved with the Metalsa Model Practices and MOS Principle

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle of touch
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to visually focus



EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 1-2 years of experience Or 5 years of experience

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience or knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience or knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Servo Press knowledge
  • Stamping process experience
  • Transfer curve knowledge, optimization, programing
  • Die protection experience - programing
