Job Description:

BSA LifeStructures is seeking a Senior Project Architect to add to our team to oversee projects as well as design in the healing, learning and discovery markets. The ideal candidate will have the ability to actively participate in and lead all phases of a project, from conceptual design through technical and construction documentation.  This is an excellent opportunity to join our Indianapolis, IN studio and become an integral part of the team!

Position Purpose/Summary

The purpose of this position is to lead and oversee all aspects of projects to ensure project outcomes are successful.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead and oversee the preparation of design ideas, architectural documentation, and executable delivery of projects.


  • Work with Principal and discipline leads to ensure the best available architectural resources are combined to deliver positive project outcomes.


  • Deliver high quality projects on time and on budget, and with high quality design.


  • Execute quality management reviews throughout all phases of the project.  Ensure firm processes and standards are met for quality.


  • Provide excellent project coordination between disciplines and outside consultants


  • Prepare project reports for management, clients and others.


  • Project management facilitation (including communication, manage the contract, staffing, budget, schedule, project scope, client and E&Os)


  • Best available architectural resources are combined and effectively utilized (staffing)

  • Firm processes and standards are met for quality

  • Project Coordination between disciplines and outside consultants

  • Project management facilitation (including communication, manage the contract, staffing, budget, schedule, project
    scope, client and E&Os)

  • Manage project profitability

  • Mentor other team members

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Prepare project reports for management, clients and others.

  • Continue education through seminars and participation in professional organizations.

  • Mentoring and/or sharing architectural knowledge and expertise with others in the firm.

  • Promote company’s reputation through good client relations.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps; familiarity with Deltek Vision preferred


    • Architecture: Revit, Sketchup, Bluebeam; Graphic Software: InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
