Electrical Engineer at BSA LifeStructures Inc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Client satisfaction and design vision met

    • Interfaces with client.

    • Responsible for all aspects of engineering design, specific to the discipline of Electrical engineering, within designated projects.

    • Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design, specific to Electrical engineering.

    • Prepares engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection.


  • Design standards, local codes and guidelines are met for quality documents

    • Prepares drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.

    • Prepares technical construction specifications.

    • Reviews the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.

    • Conducts surveys to gather field data.


  • Mentor designers

    • Coordinates the activities of the engineering design team.

    • Provide mentoring to other staff members as directed.


  • Minimize rework

    • Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality.

    • Performs field inspections as part of the construction quality assurance process.

 Secondary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supports systems commissioning activities including design reviews, energy conservation measure development, site visits, and functional test development and execution.

  • Assist with project schedules and assign work to team as needed.

  • Assist with project budget and fees as needed.

  • Deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences as required as part of the design process.

  • Promote company reputation through good client relations.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

  • Code and Mathematical knowledge required: Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws.  Work requires advanced math skills, special relationship abilities, and the ability to understand “abstract” principles behind math and physics.


  • Ownership Mentality:  Possesses a sense of ownership in all deliverables. Utilizes knowledge and opportunity to continually strive for excellence within an empowering culture.   • Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps; familiarity with Deltek Vision preferred

    • Electrical Engineer: SKM Power Tools - Electrical System Analysis, Various lighting design software,

    BSA offers a comprehensive benefit package to enhance the total compensation. The anticipated range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 and is dependent on qualifications, experience and education.  BSA LifeStructures is a 100% Employee Owned Firm.
