Job Description

This role reports to the Director, Global Tax and serves as an integral member of the tax team. The Tax Accountant will support the Director, Global Tax by providing tax accounting and administrative support. The Tax Accountant will partner with other members of the finance organization to ensure timely and accurate government filings (including sales tax returns and annual reports, as well as income & franchise tax returns). The Tax Accountant will also assist with tax provision calculations.

Essential Functions:

In the role of Tax Accountant, you will:

• Prepare tax filings while ensuring deadlines are understood and met


• Assist in the preparation and automation of tax return and tax provision workpapers


• Provide administrative support to the tax department


• Assist in special projects and research

Major Responsibilities:

• Collect financial, technical, and qualitative information


• Prepare calculations for inclusion in the tax provision and on tax returns with a heavy focus on automation and process improvement


• Assist in tax account reconciliations


• Ensure the tax calendar is maintained and all obligations are timely filed

Technical Competencies

• Exceptional computer skills and ability to work with large volumes of data. Strong MS Excel skills are required


• Strong organizational, research, and communication (written and verbal) skills


• Highly organized, disciplined and detail-oriented with the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Education:

• BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics


• MBA, CPA and/or LLM preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years' experience with both public accounting and in-house tax department experience gained in a high-growth organization. Willing to consider candidates with less experience if the candidate has a strong technology background.
