We are hiring a driven, passionate, and global-minded Senior Manager, Training and Education to work in our fast-paced Marketing organization. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Global Upstream Marketing, Training & Education.

You will be responsible for advancing field representative acumen in the space of cardiac electrophysiology to treat arrhythmias. This role is critically important as CAS expands to a broad electrophysiology (EP) portfolio of products including therapeutics, mapping and navigation, diagnostics, and accessories. The CAS business is located in Minneapolis, MN, this role is open to remote workers within the United States for well-qualified candidates.

A Day in the Life


  • Develop a strategy and implementation plan for educational programs to new and tenured sales representatives and clinical specialists to drive product and procedure expertise across the CAS portfolio.
  • Develop and manage a team of direct reports (field education specialists) who are responsible for training the sales representatives and clinical specialists in the field to ensure successful procedural support to physicians who are using our products.
  • Partner with the Marketing and Sales organization to identify training and education needs of the sales representatives and clinical specialists.
  • Oversee the development of innovative and effective training curriculum to ensure the CAS field team meets their learning objectives.
  • Serve as a project leader, facilitator, trainer and advisor to multiple learning technologies projects, activities and events within the global CAS business.
  • Develop programs for non-field employees, including CAS new hires and existing employees to provide education opportunities on the product portfolio and EP acumen.
  • Interface with CAS T&E counterparts across the global to set strategies, share best practices and implement programs.
  • Use data to measure success to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of programs.
  • Work with the team to prepare training programs; develop training materials, develop course content, determine methodology, and coordinate the development of training aids.
  • Identify and utilize new technology innovation in the training space: simulators, remote support/observation tools and other learning aids.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and key opinion leaders.
  • Spend time in the field with sales personnel and customers to understand their perspectives, needs and ideas to inform strategy and training program requirements.
  • Coordinate/prioritize the work of the team to ensure roles and responsibilities are clear for focused, effective execution.
  • Create a diverse, inclusive and highly engaged team through staff meetings, 1:1s, performance reviews and career development discussions.
  • Establish operational plans to work within annual AOP budget, prioritize projects, allocate resources, and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
  • Ability to travel 25-40%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
To be considered, these minimum requirements must be evident on your resume:


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in clinical training, healthcare marketing or sales (5 years with Advanced Degree)
  • 5+ years of people, program or project management experience

Nice to Have

  • Advanced Degree
  • Experience in the field of electrophysiology.
  • Experience in designing, developing and delivering sales & technical training programs.
  • Understand innovative education tools (digital education delivery, AR/VR)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a matrix organization and work effectively across global teams, Medtronic leadership, customers, and across geographic and organization boundaries by establishing collaborative partnering relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicting interests or requirements from within stakeholder groups. Track record of integrity, diplomacy and an ability to gain the respect and trust of superiors, peers and subordinates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at varying levels of technical understanding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strategic thinker.
  • Focus on continuous learning, innovation and process improvement.
