The Controls Technician is responsible for the supporting the implementation, design editing and file management of the industrial control systems and their related software for equipment throughout the facility, ensures compliance with all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all Safety standards.
Role Responsibilities
Complete all other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Leadership Team, including mechanical-type (wrench-turning) work such as replacing motors, rebuilding pumps and gearboxes, etc.
Excellent knowledge and skills in understanding Allen Bradley Controllogix, SLC 500, MicroLogix and various servo drives including AB
Update, record and work with ease with all the software used to program the many different devices in the plant
Design and draw schematics and ladder logic for all in house engineering projects. Perform all editing of existing program software logic
Develop documentation and implementation of new electrical diagrams
Ability to work with CONA (SAP PM) software with respect to work orders, PM and spare parts
Exceptional process management skills, excellent project management skills and the ability to interface effectively with team members throughout the industrial operation
Excellent problem-solving skills, decision making skills, written communication skills, organizational skills and critical time management skills are all necessary to be successful in the position
Maintain strong working relationships with the entire maintenance team, production team members, project management and the senior management team
Role Requirements
High School diploma or GED
2-3 years in an industrial manufacturing environment as an electrical engineering technician, lead maintenance mechanic/electrician or controls engineer
Beverage industry experience is preferred
Industrial Electrician Experience including but not limited to Electrical troubleshooting of 480 volt 3 phase equipment as well as 24 volt dc control systems, photo-eye and proximity sensor troubleshooting, rigid/IMC electrical conduit installation, electrical safety procedures per GMP, National Electric Codes, and OHSA
Troubleshooting skills on Allen Bradley PLCs including how to get online with PLC-5, SLC-500, and Control Logix including communications with Data Highway and Ethernet/IP
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project)
Experience with SAP (a plus) ability to read electrical drawings and modifications as required in AutoCAD
Siemens experience desired
