We are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst, Sales Strategy in our Chicago office. 

Position Summary

The position serves as an integral business partner to the Business Unit Sales and the Customer Development organizations. The position is focused on delivering key financial metrics including net sales, profit, and share objectives across all retail customers by providing timely and robust financial analysis, control and compliance support, and effective business planning.  Overall, the position informs and influences business decisions, particularly focused on trade investment opportunities.

Organization: People Responsibilities/reporting line/partnerships:

The Sales Strategy Senior Financial Analyst reports directly to the Sales Strategy Finance Manager and generally supports the trade investment and deployment for a business unit.  Incumbent will also work with Brand and Customer Team Finance Managers, BU Sales, and Marketing to develop and deploy trade investment strategies.

This position provides broad financial support and strategic insightful analysis to achieve business results.  A principal activity of this position is to develop and communicate earned and spent trade forecasts by leveraging insights, analysis and cross functional interactions.  This role will also assist with gap management activities by providing financial analysis, support, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Development of comprehensive earned and spent trade forecast for the assigned business unit incorporating marketing assumptions, trade initiatives, customer plans, and gap closure activities. Assist in the development of future year trade deployment strategies by providing financial analysis and leadership for BU Sales in the Annual Operating Process. Deliver value to the organization by providing analysis and insights for current year earned and trade spending, ensuring deployment and investment decisions are efficient and effective. Foster a highly productive energetic environment in which smart risk taking and bias towards action is encouraged and rewarded.  Participate fully in project team work, training initiatives, and onboarding of new team members. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering breakthrough value by proactively presenting ideas to generate incremental and profitable sales. Drive action and inspire change across functions through strong collaboration and communication, particularly with Brand Finance, BU Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance. Ensure application of efficient and effective financial and operating controls within the Corporation.  Promote sound internal control programs and support the Corporation's requirement for strong central financial control by reporting, to the Director of Finance – Customer Development, whenever Corporate Financial Policies or instructions are not being followed or appear inappropriate, inadequate or out-of-date.

Basic Qualifications


  • BS Finance or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years proven and progressive experience in corporate finance and / or business analysis 

  • Strong business judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to drive change cross-functionally

  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority

  • A proven track record of high performance

  • Knowledge of the financial and business implications of general business practices is essential

  • Knowledge of Customer Development tools is a plus

  • Passion to be an integral partner to the business.
