Position Summary:

In this role you will increasingly use sound and proven QA judgment to assist in documentation and root cause analysis. Working as a member of a QA team, you will collaborate with other engineers, management, and operators.

This position will focus on support of current warehouse, logistics and distribution, quality, manufacturing and scale up activities. Involvement may begin from feasibility at vendors to full scale shipping/receiving and manufacturing.

Position may support various aspects of Quality Engineering, including administration of specific aspects of the quality system with focus on Logistics and Distribution processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Document, optimize, and update shipping, receiving, logistics and distribution processes and procedures, within the scope of the Quality Management System.

  • Document, optimize, and update new quality, manufacturing process/assembly steps/Inspections and operating procedures for new stations, equipment, and processes within a regulated quality system.

  • Assist with investigations associated with NCMR and CAPA activities. Assists in the organization and prioritization of these processes and implements mitigating actions.

  • Participate in hands-on process understanding and provide guidance and training with assemblers on engineering level builds.

  • Act as a member of the investigation team on product/process failures. Performs failure analysis and works with engineering team to determines root cause.

  • Assists in executing test plans, DOEs and validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols. May also assist in executing protocols and support analyzing experimental data, assist in recommendations based on findings

  • May support administering specific aspects of the quality system.

  • Participates in internal audits, supplier audits to ensure systems comply with requirements and are effective.

  • Performs and documents Equipment, Process, Software and Test Method Validations.

  • Applies techniques like six sigma, lean manufacturing and Total Quality Management to improve Dexcom operations.

  • Applies systems and processes that improve product safety; increase product consistency and conformance to requirements; improve production efficiency; reduce operating and scrap costs.

  • Coordinates the disposition of nonconforming materials with the Materials Review Board.

  • Reads, writes, and understands specifications and inspection criteria to apply criteria using appropriate and properly configured inspection tools.

  • Applies proficient computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office and database applications (e.g. Excel and MiniTab/JMP).

  • Assists in the Change Order Process

  • Assists in updating risk documentation (SHA, dFMEA, pFMEA).

  • Assumes and performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and a high school diploma/certificate or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or other Technical Degree preferred, but experience in Medical Device industry (or similar) more important.

  • Familiar with experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of experiments; JMP experience preferred

  • Experience supporting sustaining operations in quality role

  • Manufacturing or sustaining experience

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new/challenging things.

  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills

  • Familiar with some data analysis methods and basic analysis software, particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Eagerness to share or tryout new ideas, perspectives, or solutions.

  • Awareness to assist fellow technicians complete their activities when opportunities arises.

  • Detailed oriented with strong time management skills.


Travel Required:
  • Up to 25%

Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
