What you will be doing:
Follow hotel standards for daily service based on the Forbes Five star standards.
Lives and promotes Fairmont El San Juan Hotel philosophy of service excellence
Follow standards for daily service based on the established Cana Pool procedures and standards.
Present an enchanting, professional and attractive image to further the overall theme of the property.
Greet all Guests promptly and with a friendly and upbeat attitude.
Follows company standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting.
Be a brand advocate by providing Guests with accurate information regarding our venues, menus and pricing.
Respond to Guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner.
Anticipate Guest needs.
Recognize and cultivate regular Guests and repeat business.
Have the ability to demonstrate a complete understanding of each menu to guests and provide drink recommendations as requested.
Up sells and suggestively sells menu items, specials and beverages at all times.
Your experience and skills include:
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and must have full knowledge of alcohol and beverage service. Ability to read and follow a drink recipe to ensure all drinks are prepared to correct specifications.
Availability to read, speak and write the English & Spanish language for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers, as well as to communicate guest s, take orders, fully comprehend memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials, such as , product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register Point of Sale System, give change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charge, and understand portion sizes.
Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
Must have p roper knowledge of menus available at the assigned outlet and ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items .
Ability to up sell additional items to enhance profitability.
Sufficient manual dexterity in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
Ability to operate a keyboard to input Point of Sale procedures to pre-check, input order and close out the check , must be familiar with hotel Point Sale System .
Ability to work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
Ability to work in outdoors areas.
High School graduate
EXPERIENCE
Food and Beverage experience in related field preferred
Hospitality experience preferred
