Position Physician Assistant Studies - Program Director
Primary Responsibility Direct the Physician Assistant Program * Manage and implement curriculum * Facilitate the accreditation process * Teach in both the didactic and clinical phase of the program as indicated * Participate in scholarship and service activities * Participate in the implementation, revision, assessment and evaluation of the entry-level curriculum for the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies * Participate in the development, initiation, and incorporation of clinical experiences * Participate in recruiting qualified student applicants * Provide supervision and academic counsel to faculty and students * Develop a research agenda and assist with mentorship of the department faculty * Prepare and implement grants and contracts * Promote faculty development and professional advancement
Education Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies required. Doctorate degree preferred.
Experience Previous involvement in higher education with at least 3 years as principal faculty or Program Director in an ARC-PA Accredited PA Program * At least five years of documented clinical experience
Qualifications Current Physician Assistant National Certification * Active/unrestricted state license with eligibility to obtain Tennessee state licensure upon hire

Additional Comments & Information The Program Director is a full-time appointment. The Program Director directs the Physician Assistant program by leading all aspects of accreditation, overseeing the curriculum implementation, scheduling and staffing courses, building the leadership team, as well as strategic and budgetary planning. The Program Director leads the Physician Assistant Studies program in all aspects within an interprofessional environment. This leadership includes, but is not limited to adherence to the vision, mission, and core values of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, curriculum development and implementation, student retention activities, and accreditation compliance.
