Position Pharmaceutical Sciences Faculty Position - Drug Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics, and Clinical Pharmacology - 2
Primary Responsibility Candidates must be dedicated to excellent student teaching and service to the department, college, university and profession. Candidates are expected to provide instruction to undergraduate, graduate, and pharmacy students in related biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences such as biochemistry, drug metabolism, and pharmacology. In addition to supporting the teaching mission of the college, candidates are expected to significantly contribute to the scholarship mission of the college by establishing an independent research program in scientific or therapeutic areas aimed at optimizing drug exposure and response utilizing in vitro models, in vivo pre-clinical studies, and clinical research in humans. Candidates are also expected to support collaborative basic and translational research training opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students, and pharmacy students participating in the PharmD-to-PhD Pathway Program and other related certificate or training pathways.
Education Position requires an earned doctorate (PhD, PharmD/PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry, or pharmacology.
Experience Teaching experience in pharmacy or other health professional programs and a record of scholarship activity including publications is highly valued and preferred.
Qualifications Candidates with existing federal, foundation, or industry funding are especially encouraged to apply. Expertise in small molecule or protein therapeutics coupled with ongoing research in drug delivery, drug transport, or pharmacogenomics are a high priority as the college works to create a Center of Excellence in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics.

Additional Comments & Information The College of Pharmacy at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the associate or full professor rank in the division of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Lipscomb University is a faith-based institution. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, student-centered academic pharmacy program. The division has active research space in a state-of-the-art Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center and has an established collaborative partnership with Vanderbilt University that includes a PharmD-to-PhD Pathway Program in pharmacology.The 12-month appointment will start in the summer or fall of 2021. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center includes a training laboratory, core laboratory for analytical support and drug product development, shared instrumentation and specialized support rooms, and independent research space. Current faculty hold adjunct appointments at Vanderbilt University and similar opportunities exist with other nearby academic institutions to facilitate collaborative educational and research opportunities.
