LMI is seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant to support our federal customer at the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities
Attend and participate in meetings, take meeting notes, record taskers and actions, and update the staff when necessary.
Review incoming and outgoing correspondence, including briefings, regulations, and directives; check for formatting, proofread, and edit as necessary; prepare documents for signature and ensure proper routing through the staff
Compose technical reports, papers, articles, and other materials that discuss contemporary developments
Provide independent analyses and recommendations to improve financial policy development and decision making
Provide confidential support to senior leadership
Track assigned tasks and due dates; continually maintain tasking document database and spreadsheets
Support the OCFO prepare, edit and review written documents by typing reports, completing forms, and preparing for clearance/signature.
Compose standard operating procedures for different activities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
5 years of overall experience; working in an administrative services capacity preferred.
Experience supporting a Chief Financial officer is a plus.
Prior experience providing administrative support to Department of Homeland Security preferred
Excellent organizational skills, ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external staff members, and the ability to work independently and take a proactive role
Flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks according to senior staff requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and SharePoint

High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to interact effectively with senior executives from Government and industry
Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
Position requires DHS Security clearance/BI. Candidates with existing clearance preferred.
