Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the CereCore team, the Epic Project Manager serves as a key Epic resource for implementation or support. The Epic Project Manager may work under the supervision of an Epic Senior Project Manager, Epic Principal Project Manager, or Project Director to ensure that assigned parts of a project run smoothly and efficiently. This individual serves as a single point of accountability to provide project management support of multiple small or medium projects or subprojects within programs with low to moderate complexity to meet objectives. The Epic Project Manager must demonstrate a strong commitment to stakeholder and team relationships by proactively communicating and supporting proactive management of risks/issues and facilitating effective outcomes in a timely manner. The Epic Project Manager is expected to spend time within our facilities and critical areas to maintain a firm understanding of operations and ensure development and solutions solve the core ask/issue. Travel will be as necessary to complete the various departmental initiatives.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Organize project activities into manageable work efforts for project team members and determine an effective approach to completing the work, as outlined in project plan

  • Author/facilitate project management documents such as project charters/scope statements, project plans, and present project updates to business owners

  • Manage and communicate a clear project scope and motivate team members

  • Manage business owner(s) and team member(s) relationships and expectations to accomplish project activities

  • Proactively identify and manage risks and issues

  • Monitor and report on project activities and report on status within published timeline

  • Coach team members to clarify task assignments, milestones, and deliverables

  • Prepare and/or ensure high quality, professional deliverables as required by each project plan

  • Facilitate the creation of toolkits to support field-based implementation, testing and training activities

  • Understand the fundamentals around Epic software and methodology

  • Travel as required: anticipated < 75% travel

  • Other duties as assigned

  • PC Skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Microsoft Project) and preferably Clarity portfolio management web tool

  • Decision-Making - applies decision-making tools and techniques to all projects supported

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS


  • HCA and HCA-based systems knowledge preferred.

  • Healthcare operations experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with Epic methodology and tools, certifications, training or additional experience is required.

  • Financial services, hospital operations, supply chain, or IT implementation experience preferred.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE


  • CAPM or PMP preferred, but not required

  • Epic Certification preferred, but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.

  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.

  • Moderate to frequent travel may be required. Anticipate a maximum of 75% travel.

  • Must be able to travel by air and meet TSA requirements

  • Must be properly licensed to drive an automobile without limitation

  • Must be able to rent and drive an automobile

  • Must able to work in diverse office setting

  • Work will be stressful at times

  • Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people
