Job Overview
The Supply Chain Specialist will facilitate supply chain activities and provide ERP system support.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide leadership from a ‘corporate' perspective while working toward company goals and objectives
• Monitor all locations on issues relating to product flow, logistics and system use.
• Monitor inventory levels for finished goods and raw material in all facilities.
• Monitor aging product, working with the Sales team and the plants for disposition of aging product.
• Approve short lead orders, perform changes and allocations, work with appropriate parties regarding availability issues
• Develop, document and maintain business procedures, ensuring data integrity.
• Support, uphold and monitor company policies and procedures as they pertain to sales, distribution and logistics.
• Work with production management at all locations on supply chain issues.
• Work with the procurement department on inventory/material setup to ensure best practices are utilized.
• Assist in the design and testing of new warehousing technology.
• Create training documentation and train end users at all plants.
• Travel to multiple locations for projects, training and/or onsite support.
• Assist Management Team and Plant Managers with extracting data from the system.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
• 4 years of supply chain experience or more.
• In-depth understanding of Supply Chain processes and related issues. • Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
• Ability to administer a proactive management approach.
• Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to personnel relating to supply chain issues.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
Preferred Education and Experience
• BA in Supply Chain Management.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
