If you are a security professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN, Chanhassen MN, and Eden Prairie, MN locations, you will work as a lead officer partnering with contract security to ensure the safety of our people and property at our sites in the southwest metro. This is a second shift position with hours of 1:30PM-9:30PM Monday-Friday.
 

AS A 2ND SHIFT LEAD SECURITY OFFICER, YOU WILL: 



  • Patrol our three sites ensuring sites are secure, and employees are safe, while providing breaks to our desk officers. Pass on valuable information to desk officers as appropriate. Travel between sites will use our company vehicle.

  • Serve as a source of information/assistance for employees/visitors. Monitor building conditions to ensure compliance with policies/procedures. Serve as communications coordinator in event of emergency situations.

  • Act as first point of contact for desk security officers in case of emergency and other issues. Provide guidance and training to contract security officers as appropriate. May serve in an “on-call” capacity during non-business hours.

  • Assist the Security Manager as required. Ensure that security equipment and systems are properly utilized and maintained.

  • Assist in training and certification of all contract security officers.

  • Miscellaneous tasks as required to provide for continuity of operations. Work assigned shifts to provide required Lead Security presence. Work overtime hours with minimal notice during staffing shortages/emergencies. Participate in training on a regular basis. Provide administrative/clerical support as directed. Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • High School diploma or GED

  • 1 year of previous security experience

  • Valid driver's license

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Coursework in security or law enforcement preferred
