ECS is seeking a HR Coordinator to work in our Fairfax, VA office.

Job Description:
In collaboration with the entire HR Team, this role provides superior in office support and expertise to a wide range of internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will undertake a variety of HR duties. The HR Coordinator will be proactive, resourceful, and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Work is to be performed at the ECS HQ office (2750 Prosperity Ave, Suite 600, Fairfax, VA).

Responsibilities

  • Ability to take direction from management and follow through.
  • Manage sensitive situations professionally, with discretion, confidentiality and a positive attitude.
  • Handles HR communications efforts as assigned.
  • Provides the HR team and management with support as needed.
  • Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information, emails, calls, faxes and files.
  • Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system for the Human Resources department. Retrieves files as requested
  • Ensures that files are up to date and located in the correct place.
  • Responsible for tracking, communications and fielding the shared HR email box.
  • Process employment verification requests.
  • Coordinating unemployment claims.
  • Running regular and ad hoc reports from applicable HR systems.
  • Manages and submits new employees background checks.
  • Schedules appointments with background investigators in order to review employee files.
  • Utilizes basic word processing, spreadsheet and database computer applications.
  • Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
  • Assists with gathering information and preparing documents in response to external or internal audit requests.
  • Performs other duties when needed.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years HR experience.
  • Preferred in-depth knowledge of HR operations and best practices
  • Policy and procedure administration experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and following through to completion all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, specifically MS Office, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Desire to build HR experience and acumen

Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree
