HR Generalist at LifeWorks Austin

Job Description:

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking to hire an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. The HR Generalist is responsible for managing day-to-day employee engagement, training, support, and compliance efforts by leading employee recognition and appreciation activities, LMS administration, development and facilitation of training, administering leave of absence and worker’s compensation programs, and ensuring compliance. The HR Generalist delivers high quality customer service to internal and external “customers” by delivering timely and professional support and results. This role will also provide backup support to recruiting efforts and will perform daily administrative tasks.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Employee Engagement & Training



  • Facilitates exit interview meetings, engagement surveys, pulse surveys, and focus group; compiles and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data, identifies trends, and shares findings with HR Director.

  • Implements employee engagement and employer branding strategies to foster employee connection and retention, including organizing staff events and facilitating employee recognition processes.

  • Manages the Learning Management System from course creation through completion, trains hiring managers and SMEs on the system, and ensures the consistency of training compliance.

  • Participates in the design and ongoing development of the Agency’s onboarding program and other training initiatives, including developing and facilitating training presentations and/or researching and evaluating external and internal training options.

Employee Support & Compliance



  • Administers leave of absence and worker’s compensation programs, including collecting necessary paperwork, making approval determinations, tracking leave use, discussing light duty accommodations, and ensuring a safe return to work.

  • Communicates with employees and leaders throughout leave and worker’s compensation processes, providing information and answering questions as needed to ensure shared understanding of status, requirements, and options.

  • Reports workplace injuries to the insurance carrier and records injuries on OSHA Forms and logs as appropriate.

  • Tightly manages the monthly background recheck process and requirements, maintaining updated documentation of requirements to ensure compliance, and staying abreast of any background regulation changes.

Recruiting & HR Admin



  • Assists with the recruiting process as needed, including performing phone interviews, coordinating interviews with hiring teams with candidates, checking references, extending offer, and closing out recruiting process.

  • Assesses the skills, qualifications, and experience of potential candidates using standardized interviewing techniques and supports managers in fulfilling their role in the screening and selection process.

  • Generates reports and analyzes data for a variety of needs, including HR Metrics as well as internal and external requests for HR data.

  • Assists in maintaining employee records in human resource information system and hard files.

QUALIFICATIONS



  • Requires 3+ years of Human Resources experience; and

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field (experience can substitute for education with a year for year equivalency).

  • Preferred HR Certification, including PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, preferred intermediate level Excel skills.
