What you will do

Deliver business solutions that enable global and local business teams. Execute transparent IT processes for full solution lifecycle. Drive continuous improvement in solution performance, reliability, compliance, and efficiency. Proactively drive solution usage and simplification with business partners. Strategically develop and execute solution roadmap that aligns to business strategy and measurably drive business KPIs. Consistently grows expertise in business processes and enabling technologies


How you will do it

Role and Responsibilities:


  • Application Strategy: support the generation and evolution of application strategies for platforms supporting JCI’s Manufacturing Operations.

  • Implementation Roadmap: support the creation and maintenance of an implementation roadmap of such platforms, maximizing company benefits.

  • Project Proposals: responsible for generating end-to-end solution proposals recommendations to business requirements, including the proposed solution architecture, estimated cost, time, internal effort as well as implementation risks, including partner recommendations.

  • Project Delivery: responsible for the implementation of such projects, including solution design, development, testing, deployment and post go live support and transition to IT Operations, fulfilling all business requirements on time, budget and quality.

  • Enhancement Management: responsible for the supervision of the small Enhancement queue for manufacturing systems, from inception to deployment.

  • Continuous Improvement: coach, establish and influences the usage of technical best practices across the operations organization. Coordinates and ensures data governance methodologies are adhered to within our environment

Organization Interaction:


  • Supports IT Business Partners and user community in opportunity definition, business case build and in the elicitation and validation of business requirements

  • Collaborates with ERP and Enterprise Integration teams in defining and delivering end-to-end solutions, including system integrations

  • Works with the ePMO organization in building project plans and in project coordination for application delivery activities

  • Interact with Application Support leaders on defining support solution designs as well as with the transition to the Managed Services team responsible for day-to-day support

  • Collaborates with Global Infrastructure and Global Security teams in defining and delivering solutions

Key Business Processes:

This position will focus on Manufacturing Execution processes, including Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Management, Shop Floor Control, Shipping, Maintenance Management, and other key functions within the Manufacturing operations globally

What we look for

Required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 6 years of IT experience with applications that support Manufacturing operations in a company with multiple factories

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on IoT, Industry 4.0 or Digital Transformation experience.

  • Deep understanding of product development, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain processes

  • Understanding of key IoT use cases and demonstrated experience defining associated value propositions.

  • Experience with the use of IOT related technologies at the connected edge i.e. IoT protocols, local and back haul connectivity technologies and industrial sensor technologies.

  • Experience with defining and implementing Analytics and decision support capabilities.

  • Able to lead technology architecture definition and infrastructure design activities for any type of manufacturing solutions, IoT preferred.

  • Experience creating technology architecture and infrastructure design activities 

  • Understanding of the challenges between “starting small” and “designing for scale” 

  • This position may require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel

Preferred 


  • Experience with other IoT Platforms such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud Platform, GE Predix, Siemens Mindsphere, SAP Leonardo a plus.

  • Experience integrating ThingWorx with ‘Big Data’ platforms should be a plus

  • Experience with ThingWorx IoT service and mashup development preferredGeneral knowledge of Agile and SDLC software development practices and technical documentation (requirements, functional specifications, test plans, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Programming Languages ThingWorx, Java, a plus

  • Knowledge on Database Management, SQL Application Packages, VBA, SSRS, a plus

  • Experience with implementation and/or support of MES Platforms preferred

  • Experience with implementation and/or support of Maximo or similar platform preferred

  • 2 years development/technical experience on any technology preferred
