What you will do

Provides assistance to customers by providing product knowledge and pricing assistance and assisting the Product Manager with product promotion and introduction of product to new and existing customers. This role has an emphasis on Airflow Measuring Products and commercial dampers and louvers

How you will do it


  • Provide technical support for both internal and external salespeople in the areas of selection and application.

  • Assists with competitive product research that will be used to help create definitions for new product development projects. 

Research includes:

(1) competitive price analysis;

(2) competitive performance analysis;

(3) feature and accessory analysis; and

(4) overview of strengths or weaknesses compared to competitors.


  • Assist with the completion of annual customer blanket quotes.

  • Reviews blueprints/drawings, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or projected increases in production from customer's use of proposed products.

  • Assist in performing a material take-off from contract documents periodically.

  • Fulfill the responsibilities of the sales department with orders, which includes the following. Customer purchase order execution, internal pricing clarification, customer change order write-up and pricing, order write-up for order entry, clarification with engineering for construction, addressing of customer concerns during fabrication, arranging for special freight and resolving of disputes regarding quality and/or incorrect invoicing of orders.

  • Assist with literature development projects including catalogs, price sheets, installation and maintenance manuals, submittals, and case studies.

  • Coordinate special design requests and special pricing with internal resources to ensure the company can meet its commitments.

  • Identify and find solutions to field application problems using experience and other departments as resources.

  • Assist with the development of internal and external sales and product training seminars.

  • Assist in the creation of electronic presentations using MS PowerPoint to support sales efforts.

  • Maintain familiarity with the competitor's products and apply this knowledge to Ruskin's advantage.

  • Continuous development of product / process knowledge through plant visits, value analysis projects or others as required.

  • Manage daily activities to assigned OEM and TC accounts

  • Other duties may be assigned.

What we look for

Required:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two years minimum related experience preferably in the HVAC industry (defined as having detailed product knowledge or the ability to demonstrate the application of products) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience consisting of at least four years of experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Required knowledge / experience in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) is mandatory. Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus.

Preferred:

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, peers, and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 

Approximately 10% travel required.
